Recently I switched my site to a CDN [CloudFlare].

One benefit I have noticed is a remarkable drop in spam. It has also increased the site's GTmetrix score.

In the face of these benefits, are there any pitfalls I should be aware of? Are there downsides to CDN?

[Note to Blacknight Hosting - I now apparently need 43% less servers. May I have a corresponding reduction in subscription charge? ;) ]

Comment spam. I hardly get any these days. Email bypasses CDN.
Ok - that makes sense, as CloudFlare do traffic filtering as part of their CDN

I had heard somewhere of people having bad experiences [but can't remember what they were]. It's nice to be reassured, thanks.
I suspect you could have issues if you didn't configure things correctly ..
