My first photography challenge of 2019 – I went as far as my back garden with some macro filters to try out close-up photography. I realise how much of the small stuff we miss as we hurry around every day; raindrops on leaves after a shower, little flowers surviving through the winter, the beautiful patterns of decaying plants.

I don't know about you, but I'm really sick of hearing about Brexit, and I can see only one way forward now.....a second vote. If people still vote leave, then the confirmation would seal the deal, whereas if the vote changes as it well might. I mhave listed a few of the reasons that make me believe this might be so in this short piece. For example, did you know that there are around 300,000 more people on the uk's electoral register now than 3 years ago when this vote was taken? Or that a swing of just 1.36% of the total electorate would be required to change the result? It may be a UK vote, but we here on the Island, both north and south are at the centre of it.

New post. A few thoughts on why public transport will never work: Transport

I have also set a St. Patricks day story to post on the 17th. Enjoy.

I am continually on a quest to improve my photography but I need to take a break from acquiring more technical information on light, focus points, composition, etc., and have a look at less technical ways to achieve the same aim. In this blog, the first of two, I will take a look at the area of vision in photography and consider whether starting off with a vision for what we do can help improve the images we make.

I enjoyed reading your transport blog, Ian. A lot of food for thought for all of us there, whatever city we are in.
Thanks Mary,

I have to say that the feeling is mutual. You are very thoughtful in your quest, and your enthusiasm comes across strongly. You even have me thinking of swapping the little compact camera that I have been using for the last few years for a SLR. My last camera of that calibre still used film!
